What does an OS Recruitment Fire risk assessment involve?
A comprehensive assessment of your workplace which will consist of three stages:
- Identifying the hazards within your business
- Identifying the people at risk
- Suggesting ways of evaluating, removing or reducing the risk
The purpose of conducting a fire risk assessment is to identify key issues within your business that need addressing in order to prevent or reduce the risks from fires.

- Assessment of health risks from hazardous substances used in or created by workplace activities
- Recommendations for precautions, which are needed to allow employees to carry out their work
- Suggested measures to prevent or adequately control exposure of employees to hazardous substances and review the control measures used
- Analysing senior managers commitment to monitoring the exposure of employees to hazardous substances and review the control measures used
- Carrying out appropriate health surveillance where assessment has shown this is necessary or where COSHH sets specific requirements
- Preparing plans and procedures to deal with accidents, incidents and emergencies involving hazardous substances, where necessary
- If required, provide employees with suitable and sufficient information, instruction and training
